A duplicate (replacement) title is an exact copy of the original title. The information on the original title remains the same when you request a duplicate title. Only the person named on the title can request a duplicate title. Think of it as running the title through a copy machine, the information remains the same.
If the title does NOT have YOUR NAME on it, you will not be able to proceed with title replacement. What you need is actually title recovery.
